Native American Bank teams with Park State Bank & Trust on Woodland Park, CO Restaurant and Event Center

DENVER, Colo. — Native American Bank (NAB) has provided $3.8 million in financing for a new restaurant and event center in Woodland Park, Colo. That funding is being paired with an additional $3.1 million from Park State Bank & Trust (PSBTrust) to fund the completion of a top tier facility that includes three dining concepts led by Chef Victor Matthews of Tava House Properties.

“This partnership highlights the vital role community banks play in advancing projects that strengthen our communities. With the relationships, experience, and long-term commitment to navigate complexity, community banks like ours make possible the kinds of deals that larger institutions often can’t or won’t take on.” said Payton Batliner, senior vice president, chief lending officer of Native American Bank.

“This is an amazing dream being realized in our community,” said Kathryn Perry, senior vice president, chief lending officer and chief financial officer at Park State Bank & Trust. “We’ve served Woodland Park for six decades—we know our community and how to help people realize visions here. When we approached NAB as partners, they were all in.”

Tava House is named for “Tava,” the original name for Pikes Peak from the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. Its first floor will include the Tava Taphouse, a 50-draft beer hall that seats more than 40 inside, with a stunning view patio with seating for another 50 diners. It will also include the River Room Banquet Hall, which aims to produce weddings, receptions, corporate events and more.

The second floor will feature the Firebrand Chophouse, offering Woodland Park an incredible fine-dining experience. Tava House is also launching a collaboration with Colorado Springs’ Paragon Culinary School (also founded by Chef Matthews) to provide opportunities for people new to the field.

Matthews’ partners in the venture include Mary Sekowski, Derek Waggoner and Mark Weaver, all members of the Woodland Park community.

“The same deftness we bring to our work with Native clients is what we bring to non-Native partners like Tava House,” Batliner said. “PSBTrust has been a great partner in this work, and we’re looking forward to celebrating this collaboration at the Chophouse!”

Tava House is expected to open by April 2026 and is booking Summer 2026 weddings and events now. For more information see tavahouse.com
